"My object in living is to unite...My avocation and my vocation...As my two eyes make one in sight"

New England poet, Robert Frost, wisely noted that life is better when you do what you love.

Every person has a story...Welcome to mine!

My name is Elaine Tuccelli. My dream as a little girl was to open a store where I could share all of my special treasures with those who shared my passion for pretty things.  Sweet dreams come true and the Merry Treasure Shopper is that special shop born long ago in my mother's kitchen where she mixed up the perfect recipe of wonder and love.

As the youngest of three sisters, I played dress up and store, as I referred to as "PayPay Girl". Looking back it is as if I always knew my destiny was in finding those special beautiful items that touch the heart and tell a story about those whose hands it passed on through. I truly love learning about and sharing the story of each items special journey through time. I often wonder if those items could talk...what stories would they tell us?

Now a stay-at-home Mom, I have the opportunity to follow my bliss....right to the estate sales, flea markets, thrift stores and resale shops that tell us the stories of a past that we can only glimpse at through the vintage treasures that live there.

Imagine lunching with grandma and her friends and be transported back to a time where the tea was sweet and the conversation sweeter still. My own grandmother, Nora, was a buyer for Jordan Marsh, a renowned New England store, during the 1930's...her "whatnot shelf" stands in my own home now, filled with my favorite knick-knacks – some which tell my own story and others that were lovingly preserved by those I connect with by holding what was once dear to them.

It is so rewarding to see others enjoy the treasures I find…..to make something old new to someone warms my heart, knowing that some treasures we borrow for a while, knowing their journey continues long after they pass throuh our hands. Whether their new home is down the street or across the country, each treasure’s value grows as it ambles along a wondrous path meeting new admirers and adding their stories to its own.
